You need to pull the Expansion valve, and replace it with a 93 R-134A Expansion Valve. Very Little Difference in Orifice size. - <--------(Is about the size of the opening of an expansion valve). And is very easy to get clogged. THese valves are just a Bi-pass that lets "so much freon through the evap coil." If this is clogged, the high pressure will eventually climb. 1.63lbs sounds about right, so do not be concerned with charge. I live in this Wasteland we call Texas, and were all A/C techs here. haha. Dont be alarmed with all these posts that tell you to "pull the dash to replace the valve." Pull the blower motor and force F*** the air box to the right --------->.
